No Room is a musical drama of the Christmas story told through the eyes of the innkeeper and his wife. The story unfolds with small choral ensembles, soloists, harp, violins, and VPC’s Valley Singers as we enjoy the glorious music of the Christmas season. This short concert features familiar songs such like Silent Night, Sweet Little Jesus Boy, and a beautiful rendition of The First Noel/Pachelbel’s Canon.
During these uncertain times, we are so excited to be able to offer a Christmas Concert! VPC staff and choir members have worked hard to make sure the experience and environment are as safe as possible. Our singers wear special singer’s masks and are split into two different choral ensembles to keep numbers low and singers distanced in accordance with studies we have been following regarding singing during COVID. With so many concerts and events cancelled, we are proud to be able to hire instrumentalists that are struggling during this season without work. We will follow the same mitigation measures we do for worship. Simply RSVP for one of two performances, wear a mask, and physically distance.
Our own Ed Glady and Tiffany Pondelik will play the roles of the Innkeeper and his wife. You will see familiar faces on violin, Lan Qiu (Phoenix Symphony), Joy Pan, and Heidi Hernandez (Phoenix Symphony) on harp.
Our singers have been uplifted preparing this music for you. We are blessed to be part of a church that can provide live music during the pandemic. We hope to bring you a bit of Christmas cheer! If you don’t feel comfortable attending in person, not to worry! We will livestream both performances for you. Merry Christmas!
