“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”
~ Mark 9:37
We take great care in helping children become true disciples of Jesus Christ. Our Sunday School programs engage them in their faith by teaching the hope and grace of God’s Word and having lots of fun. Each week, we reinforce what Jesus taught the little children: God loves you! In our nursery, infants and toddlers are introduced to their church home. Our trained and nurturing caregivers provide a safe environment, giving you peace of mind while you participate in church activities.
Fall Sunday School
9 and 10:30AM services
Fall Sunday school starts Sunday, August 19. Please register your children for the year. From infants through high school, help us get the information we need!
Summer Sunday School
June 3 - August 8, during 9 and 10:30AM services, Room 404
Children three years old through those entering first grade are invited to attend our special summer Sunday School. Our regular teachers will take some well-deserved time off in the summer. Please contact Marie Bitticks if you would like to help with one of our Summer Sunday School classes.
Sunday School will resume our regular schedule August 19th. Register for fall today!
May 27 - August 12
Children who have completed first grade (and older) will be worshipping with their families May 27 - August 12. We want children at VPC to know that they are welcome in our House of Worship. The presence of children in worship is a gift to the church.
Nursery: Infants through 18 months, Sundays 8:45AM until noon
Toddlers: 18 months through 2 years, Sundays during 9AM and 10:30AM services only
Here infants and toddlers are introduced to their church home. We provide them with a safe and enjoyable environment, giving you peace of mind while you to participate in church activities.
Food and Snacks
We serve snacks to the toddlers during their time with us. Due to the seriousness of food allergies, we maintain a NUT-FREE environment. Therefore, we respectfully ask that you do not send any food with your children (except infants).
Each child should have a small bag/pack that easily fits on nursery shelf. We recommend putting your name somewhere on the bag. Suggested items include: bottles, change of clothes, pacifier, diapers/wipes, and a favorite blanket.
Fall dates coming soon!
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Our Family workshops are a way to partner with families to empower them as intentional leaders in their child(ren)'s faith-walk to grow lifelong Disciples of Christ.
We want to walk alongside parents, partnering with them and supporting them as they guide their children/youth in their faith journey by providing common experiences, tips and techniques, and opportunities to communicate and learn together.
Not only will you feel engaged, you'll also help children take the first steps of the most important journey in their lives. We ask each Sunday School family to prayerfully consider helping out a few times each semester. You can choose from the list below, and some things can be done at home. Email or if you would like help selecting a ministry area. Otherwise, follow the links!

The safety of your children is of critical concern to us. As such we require all Children's Ministry volunteers to complete various training programs and submit to a thorough background check. The VPC Protection Policy outlines in detail the processed in place to keep our kids safe.
We also employ Simple Church Check-In, a computerized check-in system that adds an increased layer of safety and peace of mind. You can register quickly for this at one of our computer check-in stations on Sunday morning.
