VPC's Music Ministry is dedicated to glorifying and serving God through different expressions of music. If you have a love for music and creativity, join us! You will be embraced by a Christian community of fellow music lovers.
Valley Presbyterian Church loves music. From soaring vocals in the Chapel to the Sanctuary pipe organ's resonance to melodic driving acoustic guitar in the Landes Center, music is one of the primary ways we worship and glorify God. As the Fall begins, do you have a song in your heart that you long to share? Being a part of the Chancel Choir has been a blessing to Tiffany Pondelik, who grew up at VPC and has been singing all her life.
2019 VPC chancel choir christmas concert:
a celebration of music
Monday, December 16, 7:30PM
Scottsdale Center for the Arts, Virginia G. Piper Theater
The Valley Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir presents A Celebration of Music. This concert will feature a 50 voice choir, soloists, and a full orchestra with members of the Phoenix Symphony. We will perform Robert Shaw's The Many Moods of Christmas with narration and other familiar Christmas music from soloists. After intermission we will take a fun look at secular Christmas music, including a jazzy Variation on Jingle Bells, Santa Baby and a Musicological Journey through the 12 Days of Christmas (a hilarious parody with appearances by composers Handel, Vivaldi, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, and John Philip Sousa!) We will take you on a journey that celebrates the importance of music in our lives and how music enriches the holiday season. This event is graciously sponsored by the Valley Presbyterian Foundation.
This year the Christmas Concert takes place at the lovely Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are on sale through the VPC website and the SCPA box office. All proceeds from ticket sales will go toward VPC mission partners.
