Broken and the Blessed Week 3, Day 5

DAY 19
Moses was deeply upset with the idolatry of Israel. Just liberated by plagues and miracles, they had seen the mighty power of Yahweh at work in their lives. Yet they were ready to turn quickly away and toward the local gods of fertility at the very time the true God was making known his will and ways in the unprecedented form of the Decalogue, or 10 Commandments. Moses was not daunted by the brokenness and perversity of his own community. He pled to God on their behalf when he could have given in to rage or despair.
What in American life tests your meekness, pushing you toward rage or despair?
Pray for an area of brokenness in our national life.
