Questions Week 10, Day 3

DEUTERONOMY 10:17-19; 15:1-11

 

 

 

How do we judge the success of our societies? Do we use a utilitarian measure—the greatest good of the greatest number? God is not a utilitarian. Do we evaluate a society in terms of its levels of material success? Its standing in the world? Its power and influence?

 

Biblically speaking, the clearest measure of a society is the way it treats its neediest and most vulnerable citizens.

 

 

Pray for those in need in the U.S. generally, and in Phoenix in particular.

 

 

How do you define “national success?”
