Church Challenge: Wider Witness
One simple way to understand the church is as the community of the gathered and sent. We gather in prayers and praise and worship. We gather in friendship and study and devotion. We gather for healing and support and encouragement. We are sent in service and mission. We are sent into jobs and vacations and schools and clubs and onto fields to represent God’s heart and speak His words. We are sent to care and repair. We are gathered and we are sent.

How many examples of gathering and sending are there in Acts 1 and 2?
Family Focus: Breathe in and out deeply. Then breath in and hold your breath for ten seconds (don’t try to set a world record). What does it feel like not to breath out and in? Breathing is similar to the Christian life—we are to draw in God’s teaching and grace and then breathe it out in love and service and witness.
