advent study: The four gospels

The four gospels are the "good news" of who Jesus is and what Jesus has done for us! As we celebrate Christ's birth this Advent season, we will look closely at each gospel: the tone, focus, audience, and significant moments in Jesus' life.

ALPHA COURSE

Over 29,000,000 people around the world have gone through Alpha in the last 30 years! For believers, this is an exciting time of renewing and deepening your understanding of core Christian doctrines. For seekers, this is a comfortable and safe place to learn more about Christianity and ask questions. The evening includes a meal, a DVD lesson, and small group time to discuss the evening's topic. Join us and bring a friend!

THE MARRIAGE COURSE

Enjoy a private meal at a table for two and invest in your relationship. You will find suggestions for practical support, strong foundations and effective communication skills.

DISCERNING YOUR SPIRITUAL DNA WITH TIM SMITH

This course explores how we nurture and grow our relationship with God, self, and others, with emphasis on discerning our spiritual DNA and the unique way God created each of us to know and worship Him. Jesus doesn't clone anyone! We will look at different stages of the spiritual journey and the spiritual practices best suited for each person and the stage of their journey. Time will also be given to looking at the historic Reformed understanding of Christian spirituality.

holy yoga

Holy Yoga is a type of yoga practice that combines stretching and movement with worshipful moments and prayer. All levels are welcome, no yoga experience necessary. Bring a yoga mat and a friend!

Oasis Kids!

K-5th Grade

Oasis Kids! is a safe and fun environment to learn about the world in creative ways. Your child will build, craft, draw, sing and just have fun while our staff members teach them more about the love of Jesus Christ!

INCREDIBLE FAITH

This fall we will focus on people in the Bible who showed INCREDIBLE faith. From beginning to end the Bible is filled with incredible stories of heroes whose faith in God allowed them to be used by God to save the day. Each week kids will play, engage, sing and have fun together as they learn that they can put their faith in God, because he is worthy of our trust.

 

Oasis for Students (formerly Midweek)

Wednesdays starting September 12, Landes Basement

Middle School: 6-7:30PM

High School: 7:30-9PM

 

Oasis Students is a fun-filled extension of VPC Student Ministry where students are invited to hang out, make friends, and grow deeper in their walk with Christ. These gatherings include exciting events and activities along with age relevant curriculum aimed at forming students in new ways to help them discover  God's calling on their lives. Invite friends and get ready for an amazing time - we can't wait to see you there!

 

Homework room, recreation area, and a free time to buy dinner at the food trucks will be available from 6-7:30PM for High School students; Middle School students will have access to the homework room, recreation area, and food trucks as well from 7:30-9PM or after they meet.

What is most important in your lives? Explore the idea that a relationship with God is central to living a life of meaning. This series, focused on the Greatest Commandment, will help you to understand what it means to truly love God and others.

What's "trending" or most important in our culture today? Race and self-harm happen to be issues prevalent in our media but are rarely discussed candidly. Join us as we foster conversations of honesty that are fueled by the grace and truth of the Gospel.

ROOTED
November 14 and 28; December 5

How do we change? Change is inevitable. In this three week series we will explore the notion that God never changes, God is with us, and that God can change the way that we see and experience change.

Similar to our Middle School Course, join us as we delve into two topics that have overwhelmed our culture and media over the past several years. While stories of race and self-harm are trending, they seem to be conversations we steer clear of most even when given the opportunity. Join us as we discuss these topics in honesty and by the grace and truth of the Gospel.

CHANCEL CHOIR

Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 7:30-9PM, Choir Room
Sing most Sundays at the 9AM Worship Service

The Chancel Choir is a traditional four-part choir that ministers to the congregation through music. We sing everything from classical to 20th century. The choir also performs two concerts per year with a full orchestra. The Chancel Choir is open to high school students and adults at all skill levels. If you love to sing and have a heart for worshiping through song, this welcoming community is the place for you! Contact Jennifer Hamm for more information.
