Best Marriage Ever Devotional 17

GENESIS 12:4 | So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Abraham and Sarah were asked by God to see the changes and adjustments in their lives as part of their spiritual adventure. So are we!

It isn’t easy to do this, particularly when it comes to the challenge of relocation. There are some people who naturally move away from the familiar to the new. Some retirees even forsake a home and address for an RV and a perpetual journey! But most people are more in love with the settled and familiar.

When we move to a new community to retire, for work or for personal or financial reasons, we start over in many senses. We begin again finding friends, establishing patterns, connecting with a faith community. At the same time we let go of familiar relationships and routines. There is loss and disorientation. Abraham and Sarah packed the RV and embraced the adventure!

Are you more excited by the new or comforted by the familiar?
