REVELATION 7:11-12 | 11 And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 singing, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
Picture the concentric circles. On the outside are the angels and inside their ring are the 24 elders and inside the elders are the four living creatures and next to the throne—closest to the presence of God, the countless crowd of redeemed people. The peoples’ victory chant is then taken up by the angels.
Monotheism is more than the bare concept that there is one God. It is an uninhibited joyous shout that there is someone from whom all blessings flow, the source of all that is good and honorable and beautiful and true. The angels amplify this by proclaiming that to God belongs blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength. We are part of an unseen praise chorus uniting heaven and earth! It includes the redeemed living with God and the present faithful—both drawn from every tribe and nation.
No earthly institution can match the diversity of God’s people—in heaven and on earth. Thank God for the people He is saving for you next to Him in the heavenly court.
