Christmas Playlist Devotional 27

by David Joynt on December 24, 2021

John 1:5 |5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.

Christmas is hopeful. It shows us how much our great God desires to restore us and relate to us. His rightful home was the realm of light, the place of perfections, as befits the one through whom all things were made. By becoming flesh and dwelling amongst us he chose to be away from home that first Christmas. He entered the realm of darkness and death, of limitation and confusion and
injustice. Mary and Joseph left their home for His birth. He left his home for our rebirth. In relationship with him we become new people. We live in a new kind of Kingdom, in a new relationship with God and others. We trust that no darkness will every overcome the light and life God brings in Christ.

Are you hopeful?

What kind of darkness most worries you?

Pray today that God’s light will illume any darkness that lives in you in the coming year.
