Divine Imperatives November 21 Devotional

MATTHEW 7:24 | 24 Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
The way to lasting life, deep and rich and true, may be narrow. There may be one voice whose teaching is a true foundation for living. But the “narrow way” is also a universal key, a cross-cultural passport, a heavenly visa, for everyone that does respond. Narrow ways usually attract limited adherents, elite followers, special cognoscenti. Jesus’ way gives access to people from very tribe and culture and nation. His words are a rock that can bear the weight of a building that houses anyone and everyone who receives his mercy and submits to his Lordship. It is the least and most inclusive thing in this world.
The Christian faith is narrow and wide simultaneously. Do you agree?
Gracious God,
Thank you for founding a truly global and multi-cultural kingdom that crosses every barrier of geography and time and language.
Amen.
