2 CORINTHIANS 5:1 | 1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
How do we build upon the rock of Christ? We begin by recognizing the logic of his specific claims. The law of non-contradiction helps us see two things with utterly opposed meanings cannot be true at the same time. All truth, in science or the humanities, has an exclusivity to it, if truth exists at all it does so in distinction from error. We build on the truth of Jesus’s words by learning them, by teaching them, and by living them out, faithfully but imperfectly. We build day by day and year by year, according to his divine building code. We do so knowing that eventually we’ll inhabit a home not made with human hands!

Grant me a firm foundation, built on your promises and anchored in your example and commands. I ask in Jesus’ name.
