Everyday Saints Devotional 14

by David Joynt on January 15, 2022

COLOSSIANS 3:23-24 | 23 Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters, 24 since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.

The Sabbath command is a labor law as well as a renewal decree. It eliminates work for one day a week, but it elevates work on the
other days. Sabbath practice should never be used to denigrate
labor or productivity. Human flourishing involves work and not in a secondary way. Labor is primary to our identity, we work because we resemble a creative and productive God, the source of energy and ideas. Our faith is to be expressed in our work which we must see as an arena of service and witness. When we express our God-given gifts productively, we enhance the world, build society, honor our Creator, and express our faith. God is our ultimate boss.

Is God your boss?

Do your faith values ever create work conflicts?
