Everyday Saints Devotional 52

EXODUS 5:1 | 1 Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Let my people go, so that they may celebrate a festival to me in the
wilderness.’”

What we are learning this week is trust. Life is less like a solo
adventure of discovery and more like a guided tour. On a guided tour an expert is able to teach and inform us, passing on knowledge and insight that would take a very long time to acquire on our own.

Moses took Joshua on a guided tour of leadership. What sort of things did he learn? He learned the vital importance of leadership and the strength required. Moses challenged the imperious
Pharaoh in the great hall of the Egyptian court. He raised a staff at the Red Sea as the chariots of death stormed across the plain. He went up the mountain when it sparked with flame and spewed smoke, to meet the God who was a consuming fire. He faced down dissent and rebellion in the wilderness.

Who has given you a guided tour?

What have you learned about leadership?
