Stress Test Devotional April 27

LUKE 24:46-49 | and he said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And see, I am sending upon you what my Father promised; so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
Jesus encouraged faithful dreaming in his disciples through his sending, his teaching, and his calling. He also did it in his commissioning. In Luke 24, Jesus promises to clothe the disciples with power from on high for a mission of witness and proclamation “to all nations.” He lifts up their eyes to see a whole world of people who can be called to repentance and forgiveness. They must have faith to dream a dream that is world-sized and to see themselves at the center of its accomplishment. Expect great things of God—do great things for God.
