Fatihful, Faith Dreams, Day 35

JOHN 20:19 | When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”

Every holy dream will have its critics and attract its cynics. Abraham and Sarah’s family dream must have elicited chortles if not guffaws. Noah’s naval ambitions invited derision. Moses’ dream of a free people was mocked by Pharaoh. Joseph’s leadership dream sparked inter-family anger. The prophets faith-filled dreams were often met with doubt about whether and how God would act. Jesus’ faith in his Father’s dream of a suffering Messiah, raised and triumphant, was forgotten by his followers after the horrors of Good Friday and the cross. They hid in fear and locked the doors.

Have you ever had a dream ridiculed?

How did you respond?
