Finale Revelation and Imagination Daily Devotional-12

by David Joynt on June 17, 2021

REVELATION 2:4 (continued)| But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

Like a marriage or friendship, our relationship with Christ can become a matter of routine, threatened with boredom and weariness. Couples pour endless creative energy into dating, preparing special events, and making memorable moments. Once married, they often give up courting and allow lesser loves to dominate their schedules and energies.

They have stopped investing the best of what they are in their relationship. The spark is lost, the appreciation dims, the sense of adventure wanes, and unnecessarily! For reinvestment brings reward. Relationships can grow fresher and fresher. It is other interests and passions that often lessen or die out. Relationship with God and others is an unfolding mystery of love and redemption, full of surprises, growth, and possibility.

Does this verse apply to you?

When were you most passionate in your relationship with
Jesus?
