Finale Revelation and Imagination Daily Devotional-13

by David Joynt on June 18, 2021

REVELATION 2:5 | Remember then from what you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

If your passion for the faith has lessened, have the courage to face it. Face it and do the “first things.” The Ephesians had weeded out evildoers and endured difficulties, but their love for Christ and one another had grown cold. The first thing is the experience and sharing of divine love. Without it we cannot face our brokenness without despair and so must ignore or cover up our faults. Without it we cannot get beyond others flaws to see their potential.

The root of all Christian life and practice is divine love, known in Christ. Nothing substitutes for this, including popularity, power,    victory in controversy, or organizational influence. Churches without love cease to be churches and become clubs or institutions with limited lifespans and influence.

How passionate are you?
