MATTHEW 6:21| For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
We become what we do. If we lie, we become untrustworthy. If we tell the truth, we become more capable of honesty. Acts of love and generosity are not isolated incidents, they shape our souls and identities. We can become loving and generous people.
In the end, the gift we give back to God is the gift of ourselves. It is the character, the personality, the faith and hope and love we develop now, in this life, that begins to make us creatures fit for eternity.
Now this process is completed when we are transformed by his power in ways we can barely imagine. But it begins now. Think of yourself and life as a gift you are giving to God, a treasure meant for heaven.
