Pray Without Ceasing, Week 8, Day 53

by David Joynt on July 24, 2019

PSALM 139:16 | Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In your book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed.

His knowledge of us is also anticipating. He knows the choices we shall make in advance. Called foreknowledge, this differs from God determining every decision we make in a direct casual sense. How is foreknowledge conceivable? Well we often know, with near certainly, what will happen in advance. Our five year old loves chocolate and has not eaten in 6 hours—we know she will accept a candy bar! In a similar but more capable fashion, God knows us, including every strand of our DNA, every impulse, every aspect of our physiology and chemistry, every moment of our precious life. We still exercise our sovereign wills—he knows how we’ll act and react.

How do you picture God’s foreknowledge?
