Questions Week 9, Day 5

by David Joynt on June 29, 2017

LUKE 15:21-24, 31-32, 14:15-24

1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-26

Heaven is not a long, dull sermon or a hymn with 10 million repetitive verses. It is the full experience of the deepest things we know now. Have you had a flash of insight? Imagine total inspiration. Have you been moved by a moment of beauty, a sense of connection? Have you been lost and then been found? Imagine those moments multiplied many times over. The culmination of a job well finished, a task well done—this also we will know in heaven when we see how God used our small deeds for his large purposes. For these and many other reasons, heaven is a place of celebration, and Jesus talks of it as a party or a wedding feast.

Read the passage from 1 Corinthians 11.

Do you think of communion as a celebration that looks forward to a party?

Notice the reasons in Luke 14 people miss the celebration.

FAMILY TIME—

What makes a good party?

A great party?

A heavenly party?
