Church Challenge: Wider Witness
The more active we are in God’s name, the more we sense His power and presence. The gift of the Holy Spirit is given to help us represent God’s purpose and character in the world, as His witnesses. The power and the purpose are linked. Because the task is large, and sometimes complicated, His power is vital. On our own we cannot reach the world, with all its countries, obsessions, and pathologies. If we try without Him, we will soon be exhausted and discouraged. If, on the other hand, we don’t try, we will not feel His power flowing into and through our hearts.
Ask God to show you someone you can pray for, connect to, and share with.
Do you sense God’s power in your life?
Family Focus: Turn off the house circuit breaker. Ask you children to turn on the lights. Take them to see power restored. Explain that God wants to give us power to shine in our lives, then turn the lights on in your home.
