Sharing Together for Tomorrow: Day 4

What about God’s character are you excited to witness to? What about God’s blessings motivates you?

September 26, 2016

ACTS 2:37-41

Church Challenge: Wider Witness

Notice that Peter stresses how wide God’s promise is—it is for his listeners and their families and everyone who is far away, either geographically or spiritually. But notice that only some respond, by admitting their lives have not been God-honoring and that they need forgiveness and grace. Some respond and some do not.

No one who acts as a witness for God should expect a perfect response rate! God calls all of us, but some of us do not answer. This truth should prepare us for our experiences as His ambassadors—there will be joy and heartbreak. The seed of His truth sometimes falls into good quality soil and multiplies, sometimes it falls in hard ground, and sometimes it germinates initially and is squeezed out. Our job is to share humbly, modestly, gently, and with great conviction. The impact of our sharing is up to those who hear and the mysterious work of God in their hearts.

What about God’s character are you excited to witness to?

What about God’s blessings motivates you?

Family Focus: Sit in a circle in your living room. Shut your eyes and then prompt the family to try and remember details about the furniture or pictures. Talk about how noticing things helps us remember and witness accurately, whether about the living room or the living God!
