Sonlight, Day 2
by David Joynt on December 03, 2018
JOHN 8:12 | Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
REVELATION 22:5 | And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
Light is a kind of synonym for life and for awareness in English parlance. A fighter has his "lights knocked out" when he loses consciousness, and the phrase "when the lights go out" is used to describe the experience of death. In Revelation 22, the last chapter in the Bible, we are introduced to the idea of perpetual light, a light that puts to rest the darkness of death and evil, a light that never ends. God, we are told, will eventually become our constant light, eclipsing the need for artificial lights or even the necessity of sunlight.
Can you imagine a world without night, a world minus the darkness?
Read this verse as a personal promise by God to remove every scrap of darkness from your life and self.
