Soul Songs January 23 Devotional

Psalm 95:4-5 | 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and the dry land, which his hands have formed.
“When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze”
The vastness of the universe, with its ongoing expansion and dynamic processes which create planets and stars by fusion, is complemented by its unique beauty. Bubbling brooks race from heights to depths, birds offer carefree choruses from phone wires in the backyard, mountains offer compelling vistas, framing our valleys, trees in towering variety stand in seeming tribute, reaching branches skyward. Nature breeds naturalists, who feel more alive and inspired by life’s intricate connections and startling beauty.
Are you a naturalist? Go for a wander and observe.
Gracious God,
Everywhere I look on this earth I see the life you’ve made, teeming and beautiful. I am blessed to be a part of it.
Amen.
