Stress Test Devotional May 25

MATTHEW 11:28 | 28 Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
The invitation to bring problems to Jesus is deliberately open-ended. He does not specify one type of issue, for He specializes in every malady! Some of our burdens we bear for others through our empathy. Some are due to health issues, physical stresses and strains. Some are mental and psychological. Some originate outside of us, as the pressures and problems of the world impinge on us.
Think of the Youth Sunday sermon by Jack MacDougall and the pressures on graduates to achieve their potential, impress parents and peers, justify money spent on education, and orchestrate their own futures and careers. Whew!
Come to me, no matter what burden you are carrying.
