In Acts 1:13, we find Andrew waiting for the coming of the Holy
Spirit. He and the other disciples were instructed not to begin
their worldwide mission until they were "clothed with power
from on high." Waiting is a key part of Christian living. It is also
very hard. As people of action who are longing to make progress,
it is difficult to delay doing in order to wait for God's direction.
As I look back on my life, however, my most effective moments
have come with his aid and guidance. On my own, my best
efforts have yielded puny results.
