The Upside Down World, Week 10, Day 7

by David Joynt on November 18, 2017

LUKE 15:1-2

The worst thing about pride, in the final analysis, is that it gets in the way of connecting with Jesus. In His ministry, it was strugglers and stragglers, women and men who knew their need, who became His friends and followers. The theologians and the leaders largely missed out on His grace and mercy.

My own pride, un-submitted to God, can cripple my life and work. But as I review each day and acknowledge each challenge, I find humility near at hand. When I read about Jesus and see His unselfish regard for others and His unassailable integrity, humility is easier to feel. When I celebrate the grace I see in others—humility floods my heart.

Do you have any practices that feed your humility?

Thank God for His mercy and for humble people who inspire you.

FAMILY TIME— Who do you know that is humble? How can you tell? Pray that God will grow your humility
