The Upside Down World, Week 9, Day 5

LUKE 5:21 | LUKE 15:21-23 | JOHN 1:46
This parable has overtones connected directly with Jesus’ life and ministry. The leadership of Israel received an invitation from God through Jesus. His messianic deeds fulfilled the hopes of the prophets. His healings and authority over evil brought the Kingdom near. His teaching illuminated the Torah and rang with divine power. Yet most leaders rejected Jesus. They had excuses, but no legitimate reason. Some criticized His humble background, insisting nothing God could come from Nazareth. Some were critical of His company and concern for the ungodly. Some could not get past His theology and personal claim to have the right to forgive sins.
Who do you know who has misunderstood Jesus?
Pray for them today.
