GENEIS 17:3-4 | 3 Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him, 4 “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations.”

Now this encounter with God floored Abram. After nearly 100 years of living, his sense of the world was settled, his life had been patterned, and now he was asked to start anew. It is one thing to run your own life and determine your own destiny. To choose your profession, your friends, your territory, your partner, your pleasures. It is another thing entirely to feel the weight and possibility of divine destiny, to embrace God as source and director of your decisions, submitting your will to His.

No wonder Abram fell on his face!

What reservations do you think Abram felt?

Do you work and pray diligently to discover God’s will for your life?
