World Changing Words Devotional-Day 35

HABAKKUK 3:17-19 | 17 Though the fig tree does not blossom, and no fruit is on the vines; though the produce of the olive fails, and the fields yield no food; though the flock is cut off from the fold, and there is no herd in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the God of my salvation. 19 God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and makes me tread upon the heights.

These words are a reflection of a faith in God “no matter what.” The prophet believes in God’s salvation despite the failure of crops, even when the fields yield nothing and the vines and fruit trees are moribund. When cattle and sheep are scarce, he still believes, and still rejoices.

Can you turn this poetic prayer into a personal moment with God? If you are suffering a reverse in finances, relationships, or health, name these conditions. Then say with conviction “yet.” Yet I will rejoice in the Lord—knowing He can refine, renew, and restore me, now and forever, through gain and loss, success and suffering.

What are you enduring right now? See it as a way to develop a deeper faith.
