Questions Week 16, Day 7

by David Joynt on August 12, 2017

MATTHEW 25:14-46

To the passages in which hell is directly referred to, we must add all of Jesus’ teaching about judgement in general. These two famous passages from Matthew 25 are important enough that our Lord devoted major space and time to them near to the end of his earthly life.

Life is a gift given by God to be invested in ways that honor him and express his truth, his love, and his justice. If we don’t invest, or spend ourselves and our resources of time and money in wrong ways, there will be consequences. On the positive side, our use of life and its gifts can build treasure in heaven and change the lives of many right now. When it does, God rejoices.

Which of these two judgement parables challenge you more?

Have you ever met Jesus in the needs of someone else?
