Seven Last Words Daily Devotional -50

MATTHEW 28:16-17 | 16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.

The final words offered to and about Jesus on the cross are mocking and derisive. Admiration and devotion for His mighty deeds and wonderful teaching gave way to verbal abuse. His kingship claims have ended on the cross, and leaders, soldiers, and no doubt onlookers pile on to denigrate His supposed pretensions. The one who wanted to save others is powerless and impotent to save Himself, claim the critics. How surprised they would be that no one is more honored! That His worship takes place in every time zone, in hundreds of languages, every single day!

Some today still mock Him, and others vilify His name, but eventually every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, Jesus Christ is Lord.

Do you know anyone who mocks faith in Christ?

Can faith and doubt coexist? (See verse 17).
