An unforgivable sin? Jesus taught love of enemies! We must actively seek the good for those who oppose and harm us. This teaching stretches beyond forgiveness toward a horizon of undeserved grace for those who define themselves as our enemies. Wow! It was only on the cross that we fully understand the nature of enemy love and forgiveness. On the cross Jesus forgives those who are unjustly condemning and crucifying him. On the cross he demonstrates a love that values and rescues all of us, who through our rebellion and brokenness, have become God’s enemies.
