The Upside Down World, Week 2, Day 1

by David Joynt on September 17, 2017

WEEK 2

“SOIL SAMPLES”

LUKE 8:5-8 | MATTHEW 13:1-9

Farming, for us, is an industry more than a way of life. Jesus’ audience could probably see farmers working in the background while they taught. Almost everyone would have been familiar with the agricultural practices of the day. What we know of them comes from a few passages like Jeremiah 4:3, Isaiah 28:24-25, and Hosea 10:11-12, as well as archaeological evidence. What would have caught the crowd’s attention was the enormous yield from the good soil. This parable primarily promises God’s crop will be a bumper one!

Have you ever been to or worked on a farm?
