Students

Welcome Students

You are amazing for so many reasons! Life is happening fast and you are taking on challenges and new experiences minute by minute. We are privileged to be cheering you on as God calls you to live to the fullest in every season of life (including this one).  VPC Student ministry is a place for students to journey together as we seek to be a Jesus people for the sake of the world – asking big questions, caring for our neighbors, and telling stories of what God is doing through every one of us.  Our mission is to cultivate an environment where students are adopted into the body of Christ ensuring they are known, loved, and sent as transformed disciples.  Come join us on this adventure together (and invite your friends – we think they’d want in too)!

Sunday Morning Gatherings

Our Sunday Morning Gatherings are a time for students to reflect on and dive deeper into their faith (meetings will also take place in the new student ministry rooms next to the sanctuary). This is an intentional time to share our lives with one another, read the bible together, pray, and have a safe space to invest in community.  Sunday Morning Gatherings begin at 8:45AM and 10:45AM for both middle school students and high school students (both groups can attend during each service).  Students are encouraged to sit with their families at the front end of the service and be dismissed at the midpoint. On communion Sunday, which takes place on the first Sunday of each month, we won’t have Sunday Morning Gatherings in order to encourage intergenerational corporate worship.

OASIS Students (Wednesday Nights)

Oasis is our Wednesday night programming for all ages on-site @ Valley Presbyterian Church. Middle school students will meet from 6-7:30 PM and high school students will meet from 7:30-9 PM in the new student ministry rooms next to the sanctuary. Our brand new café (Awaken) will also be open as a homework room available for students and families to use on these nights as well (before and after a given program event – e.g. HS Students can use the café from 6-7:30 PM and MS Students can use it from 7:30-9 PM)!

Additional Information

Homework room, recreation area are available from 6-7:30PM for High School students; Middle School students have access to the homework room, recreation area, and food trucks as well from 7:30-9PM or after they meet.

Youth New Member Class

Some of us have grown up in the church and may know a lot about what it means to follow Jesus. Others of us are newer and are hearing about faith for the first time. Whether you are old or new, we are thrilled to provide an opportunity for high school students (freshman and above) to take their faith to the next level by offering a youth new member class (which consists of 5 sessions and several corresponding enrichment activities taking place throughout the Spring with a final celebration Sunday).
This class will allow students to further develop their understanding of the Christian faith, examine their own faith, and make a public statement of their faith with the intent of becoming members of VPC if they choose. At the end of the class, those desiring to become members of the church will be received into membership during worship. Those who have not been baptized will be baptized at that time. Parents are also encouraged to attend a one-time informational meeting to understand the components of the Youth New Member Class.  To sign up, click the registration form below.

Trips

Over the course of the year, VPC Students have several opportunities to serve other communities, share the gospel via mission trips and have life-transforming off-site experiences (e.g. camp). Our hope is that God stirs your spirit to take part in these amazing opportunities and missional efforts now and in the future.
