Testimony

I had the privilege of being raised in the East which happened to have a PCUSA church the size of Valley Presbyterian Church. Lots of my memories are from First Presbyterian which provided preschool, choir, fellowship, and many friends. I was baptized, confirmed, and introduced to Jesus there.

Growing up, I don’t remember ever seeing a Bible in my home, other than those gifted to my brothers and me by the church. However, Godly values were modeled by my parents and they expected the same from us! I moved on from church during my college years. It wasn’t until I was married (at a First Presbyterian Church) and had my first child that I found a new church. A seasoned Christian and best friend came into my life at this time.

I was a charter member of a small Presbyterian church in the Mountain West many years ago. Annual weekend women’s retreats were a great source of spiritual growth, along with weekly covenant groups.

Moving to Arizona and calling Valley Presbyterian Church our home has been a real blessing. I’ve met sisters in Christ who will be lifelong friends. I’ve found great Bible studies, such as Valley’s Women’s Bible Study on Fridays. Valley Presbyterian is my husband’s and my church home and I will be forever grateful for the friendships, the nurturing, the teaching from the pulpit and in the classroom, the inspiration, and most of all, the love.
