The Gospel of Matthew: Chapters 6-10
Every Wednesday, from 09/10/2025 to 10/08/2025, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Room(s): B106

Instructor: Wally Larson Jr.

All are welcome to join Wally Larson, Jr. for a five-week Bible Study from 6-7pm, beginning September 10th, 2025. Wally will use an interactive format to get us talking and thinking about this book of the Bible which is especially rooted in the Old Testament and the Jewish roots of our Christian faith. We will discuss one chapter each week, starting with Matthew Chapter 6 and with the final week on Matthew Chapter 10. Here is a preview of a few possible questions raised by chapter 6 of Matthew:

  • Does God condition forgiving us on our forgiveness of others?
  • What does it mean to "seek first" God's kingdom?
  • What kind of rewards is Jesus promising for our being discreet?

Bio: Wally Larson, Jr. is an attorney in private practice whose core area of practice is professional responsibility - the rules and laws governing lawyers. He lived in Phoenix through the age of 18, went east for college and law school, then lived and worked in the Financial District of New York City for 25 years. He had the privilege of serving as a Ruling Elder at Redeemer Presbyterian Church while the late Dr. Timothy Keller was the Senior Pastor, and as Chair of that church's Board of Trustees while the church was multiplying into several churches around Manhattan. Wally moved back to Phoenix three years ago and works remotely for the New York office of his law firm. He enjoys reading history and theology, and teaching God's Word.
