A New Heart for the Valley Week 3, Day 3

AN INVITATIONAL HEART
Invitations can be spontaneous or well-planned and strategic. When considering inviting someone, it is worth considering what inhibits their spiritual “mobility.” Some folks are stuck, paralyzed in a spiritually or emotionally immobile position. As a congregation, we minister to those who are physically unable to come to our campus, with home visitations, mobile communion services, and digital services. But others are immobile because of a less obvious paralysis. They may be afraid of the unknown. They may feel guilt, and so aversion to God-centered activities. They may harbor disappointment emanating from earlier encounters with a church community. Removing these obstacles takes patience, prayer, and discernment.
Thank God for the Deacons and other members of our church who take our fellowship and worship on the road to the isolated.
Do you know anyone who is “paralyzed?”
