Belong & Become, Week 2, Day 13

JOHN 14:19 | 19 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live.
The life we cultivate as we grow our relationship with God is HIS life. It is not an improvement or betterment of our own ordinary human life. It is not biological life elevated through a deeper moral sensibility, a wiser intellectual perspective, or a wider social angle. It is zoe, divine life. It is his holy righteousness, his total truth, his complete love.
The purpose of Jesus’ presence in our lives is to make us creatures fit for heaven—examples of a new humanity, shining with God’s glory and goodness. It is not to increase our niceness, although if we don’t grow nicer and kinder and more thoughtful, it is probably a sign we have not invited him into our lives, or we are limiting his spirit.
How do you contrast ordinary and divine life?
