REVELATION 7:10 | 10 They cried out in a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

The seven churches of Asia minor John writes to will undergo persecution and trial at the hands of the Roman authorities. He wants them to measure their suffering against their eventual triumph. To that end he includes three images of triumph. White robes were worn by Roman generals in their victory parades, called triumphs. Palm branches were waved when the Maccabees rid Jerusalem and the temple of the pagan pollution of Antioches Epiphanes—again a symbol of triumph and victory. Finally Verse 10 is a triumphant song. The sufferers and martyrs should know, theirs is the victory!
