Luke 19:9 | 10 For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost.
“Today salvation has come to this house!” What a wonderful declaration. Where Jesus is embraced and His rule accepted, salvation is present, and the kingdom arrives. Part of Zacchaeus’ salvation was a new community of friends—he was saved from shame and isolation. Part of Zacchaeus’ salvation was a fresh beginning—he was saved from previous bad choices. Part of Zacchaeus’ salvation was freedom from guilt—he was saved from the sense of being an exploiter and a traitor.
But all of these forms of salvation from things depend on the arrival of the Lord to His home. It is Jesus who brings the offer of unbreakable friendship, the authority to forgive, and the direction that leads to a new identity.
What does salvation look like in your life?
Has Christ come to your house?
