Broken and the Blessed, Lent Day 20

DAY 20
The kind of trauma she suffered is a threat not only to her life but to her identity. Separated from her culture, her way of life, she is thrust as a servant/slave into the household of Naaman, the Syrian army commander—the leader of the very people who kidnapped her and took away her freedom. She is now a lonely captive, a foreigner, a living tool, an orphan, human chattel. The Israelite religious practices that shaped her life are now also gone—no rites and rituals, no priests and prophets, no community with whom she can celebrate and share. All of this is there in a single verse.
What is the greatest adjustment you have ever made?
How did it effect your outlook and personality?
