Broken and the Blessed Week 8, Day 6

DAY 55
Jesus’ comments on the blessing of persecution in these verses. Notice how he puts His own name where the word righteousness stood in the previous verse. Persecution for righteousness’ sake and persecution for Jesus’ sake are the same thing. He embodies the righteousness of God, and His behavior and attitudes is a blueprint of what is good, just, and true. Here He describes persecution as personal criticism as opposition that makes life harder, and as false accusation or characterization. One of life’s hardest tasks is to be patient when your Christian faith and character is unfairly attacked in a disturbed fashion.
How do you respond to unfair criticism?
FAMILY TIME:

Whose opinion matters most to you?
Whose opinion should matter most?
