Christmas at the Movies: Week 5, Day 1

by David Joynt on December 31, 2017

1 Corinthians 12:1-7 |

1 Corinthians 13

“George Bailey and the Wise Men”

The Christmas story is a story of dependence. The Holy Family
needs a lot of help. They depend on the innkeepers generosity
and the wise men's gifts. Jesus depends on his young parents for
survival and sustenance. Later, he will depend on many unnamed
people for hospitality as he travels and heals.

When it comes to the most important commodity in life, we all
depend on one another and on God. That commodity is love.
Giving it and receiving it from another is the sustaining force in
life and, as we share it, we remember that God is its source.
Independence is overrated.

When is independence good?

When is independence necessary?

Who depends on you for love?
