Dwell in the House of the Lord Volume 1, Day 1
by David Joynt on June 07, 2020
Psalm 23:1a | 1a The Lord is my Shepherd.
This first sentence is a personal declaration. The Lord is my shepherd. David, himself a King, recognizes the absolute necessity of being led by God and the higher authority and submission this implies. Everything begins with God and the question of our relation to him. This question is in the background of all other questions. It is not only a claim about Him, it is a claim about us, about our need and our rightful dependence. Our psychological health, our emotional well being, our life effectiveness, our spiritual maturity, and our external destiny—all hang on the relationship we have with the Shepherd.
Is the Lord your Shepherd?
Turn this psalm into a personal declaration and prayer. “Lord you are my Shepherd…”
