Dwell in the House of the Lord Volume 1, Day 23

Matthew 28:18-20 | 18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
What about the disciples? Did their lives shrink via association with Jesus? Hardly. Fishing is a fun hobby but hauling carp from the Sea of Galilee is pretty routine. Farming is essential, but when you’ve ploughed one row you’ve ploughed them all. The disciples were stretched intellectually, with everything they thought they knew about God getting changed and shifted. They were embroiled in controversy and asked to do things in ministry they’d never imagined possible. They entered foreign territory, crossed boundaries, broke customs. Later they were asked to start the first international, intercultural movement in human history.
Do you view your call as a disciple as exciting?
