Dwell in the House of the Lord Volume 2, Day 49
by David Joynt on July 25, 2020
HEBREWS 12:2 | 2 looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
Psalm 23:6a, viewed in the light of Jesus’ life, becomes true in a deeper way. For Jesus follows behind us—He is the perfecter of our lives. Projects we don’t finish, dreams we don’t fulfill—He sees them through. Mistakes we make, harm we do unintentionally—He corrects and repairs. Good deeds done have knock-on and ripple effects we could never imagine through His power and providence. He follows us and makes whole and beautiful things from our small offerings.
When have you experienced Jesus as “Perfecter”?
What does this mean for “parental guilt”?
