Dwell in the House of the Lord Volume 2, Day 51
by David Joynt on July 27, 2020
PSALM 23:6b | 6b and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.
PSALM 84:1-2,10 | 1 How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! 2 My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
10 For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than live in the tents of wickedness.
David had a royal residence—but felt most at home in the Temple—the courts of the Lord. Feel the emotional intensity in Psalm 84. In worship we touch the Timeless in time, we sense the Beautiful in beauty, we taste the Good in goodness. We sample heaven and rejoice in the presence of our Father.
What makes a house a home is the quality of relationships experienced within the walls. In God’s house we can know perfect love, total acceptance, and genuine truth.
