Each 1 Reach 1 January 25 Devotional

by David Joynt on January 25, 2023

MATTHEW 6:19-21 | 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

There are “knowns”—things of which we are absolutely certain. There are “unknowns”—things we cannot know and do not understand. But there are also “known unknowns“—often connected with the future, where we are able to understand the reasons for our insufficient knowledge. The impact of our faith sharing is a known unknown.

What will someone, whom we have influenced, contribute to the Kingdom? Who will they teach and encourage and bless? How will people they affect go on to impact the Kingdom? Someone taught Billy Graham how to pray. Someone showed Mother Teresa the power of compassion. Outreach is an amazing adventure with dynamic results that will only be fully known in the life to come. People we touch for Christ will be our heavenly treasure.

How rich will you be in heaven?

Are you excited about outreach?

Gracious God,

Someday we’ll know! We will know as we’ve been known, and understood as we’ve been understood. All the many moments of our service to You will fit into a great pattern of life and love. Until then, keep us excited!

Amen.
